First images of the new Kipon L-mount lensess

Charlie Carter shared to me these images of the new Kipon L-mount lensess:

KIPON have been kind enough to send me the worlds first complete set of L-Mount primes with de-clicked aperture rings. All the lenses are f2.4 with optics designed by IB/E Optics Germany, the range includes:
24 / 35 / 50 / 75 & 90mm
I’ll be making a video review of the lenses which I’ll post soon, but in the meantime let me know if you have any questions 😉

Sigma says new L-mount designed lenses are coming in 2019 and APS-C L-mount lenses in 2020

Sima spilled out some info in a new interview with Imaging Resource:

APS-C L-mount lenses:
Yamaki said “we will release APS-C sized lenses for L-mount in 2020“. These will be L-mount adapted lenses of their current APS-C lenses for MFT and Sony E-mount

New natively designed lenses for mirrorless:
Yamaki: “brand-new lens designed for the short flange-back system should be available some time this year.

Market is shrinking.
Yamaki believes the market will shrink further: “Maybe [down] 20 to 25% from now, that’s my guess.

DSLR vs Mirrorless:
…”the market is changing from DSLR to mirrorless much quicker than I thought.“…..”Eventually, I think the majority of interchangeable-lens cameras will be mirrorless.

Sigma interview at Dpreview: “expect a few lenses this year designed for L-mount”

Sigma CEO Yamaki talked with the Dpreview team. A couple of info:

– He found the response to the new L-mount “is better than I thought”
– Sigma plans to launch “a few lenses this year” that are designed specifically for L-mount.
– Sigma is not sure they can implement Panasonic DFDtechnology with their L-mount lenses
– Sigma is considering to launch smaller and more compact f/2.0 primes
– The Nikon Z mount is in theory good for designing lenses but Sigma is concerned about reflection problems (ghosting) because “the mount is too close to the sensor”
– Sigma would like to be a “unique camera manufacturer” in the future.

I am really excited to see that new FF Foveon camera!!!
