Sigma will announce a new 28-105mm f/2.8 lens in early September!

I have an exclusive rumor to share today! Multiple trusted sources confirmed that in early September we are getting the following new lens:

  • Sigma 28-105mm f/2.8 ART Full Frame autofocus lens for Sony E and Leica L cameras

This has the potential to become a very popular lens like the Canon 24-105mm f/2.8. Yes, the Canon has a much more useful 24mm at the wide end but I have been told the Sigma weights less, is more compact and more importantly much cheaper!

I hope to get some images of this lens soon. If you happen to find some images please contact me at l-rumors@gmail.com or use this contact box.

That said, what do you think about this lens?

Curiosity: If you remove the front aperture patch on the LUMIX S 26mm F8, will it become equivalent to F4?

Asobinet report about an interesting finding:

  • If you remove the aperture patch on the LUMIX S 26mm F8, it will change from F8 to F4.
  • At infinity, the amount of incoming light may exceed F4.
  • Not recommended if you do not have disassembly skills.
  • When checking with the aperture patch removed, there is no degradation in image quality visible to the naked eye.

Try this at your own risk 🙂

P.S.: Still think that if this lens would have been f/4.0 instead of f/8.0 it would have become quite popular!

Global stock slump: Panasonic stock plummets more than 12 percent

Today the world stock market is crashing, And Panasonic shares dropped nearly 13%. Cause for this are fear of recession and increased tension between Iran-Israel. Will be interesting to see if the market can recover in the near future…

Note: OM Digital is not listed on any Stock market. Nikon and other companies are doing bad as well:
