We will be closing our LUMIX PRO service on 30 November 2025. This step allows us to refocus on new activities designed to better support our customers and creators.
Current members will be able to log in and manage their accounts, including securing any data, until 31st December 2025. New registrations are no longer available after 18th September 2025.

The Panasonic Lumix S1 II pro evaluation – great autofocusing capabilities

The autofocus system in the new flagship Panasonic Lumix S1 II is amazing. Having used Nikon professionally for decades and recently adding the Lumix S1 II to our collection, I’m fully confident that the Lumix S1 II is up to any demanding task when using fast native pro-level glass. The Lumix S1 II and Nikon Z9 are definitely comparable in terms of AF tracking, human and eye performance, etc.

The Panasonic Lumix S1 II shows stunning AF capabilities for soccer and sports, and I feel that this flagship is right up there on the same level as the Nikon Z9. The video capabilities, however, are on a completely different level. We added the Lumix S1 II flagship to our collection as an alternative lightweight hybrid pro camera with better low-light high-ISO performance compared to the Nikon Z9.

A fast solo run by IF Gnistan right back defender Saku Heiskanen. Gnistan scored a 3-2 win against HJK on October 3, 2025, dealing a serious blow to HJK’s ambitions of regaining the Veikkausliiga title.

Pictures include tack-sharp examples even in modest low light:

• Focus point stays on fast-moving subjects
• Focus doesn’t drift even when another player enters the AF area
• Lock-on focus remains stable without jumping between subjects
