Official Lumix Teaser Released — Could This Be Just an App Event?

From the teaser, it doesn’t look like we’re getting a new camera — instead, it seems to be a major update to the Lumix app. That would be a bit disappointing 🙁

One more thing…on their website Panasonic is teasing the launch of a new Lumix Flow update on October 20. Here is what’s coming:

LUMIX Flow 1.3.0(iOS/iPadOS/Android)

・Supports DC-S5M2,DC-S5M2X,andDC-GH7.
・Added UI display optimized for vertical shooting.
・Improved mirroring monitor functionality.
・Enhanced operational stability.

The following features are available only for DC-S5M2,DC-S5M2X, and DC-GH7:
*They will be compatible with DC-S1M2, DC-S1M2ES and DC-S1RM2 in the near future.
・LUTs can be applied to the live view.
・Supports multiple frame markerdisplay.
・Added AF recognition frame display.

Doesn’t seem to me that’s worth of a live stream event?

Some unverified rumors suggest that a new Panasonic LX100 III fixed-lens camera might be announced on October 17.

The current LX100II sells for $1498 on Amazon!

One source heard about a possible new Panasonic Lumix LX100II successor coming on October 17. The only spec he shared is that it will use the same Panasonic G9II sensor. This is not a 100% solid rumor yet, so please take it with a grain of salt!

Why the LX100III would make sense:

On the used market the value of the LX100II kept raising from $600 to now nearly double the price. There is clearly a demand for this camera. Panasonic may have noticed this and felt the need to upgrade the camera?

What would you love to see on the new LX100III? 25MP with hybrid AF sounds good enough to me!
