Panasonic will soon announce the new LUMIX BS1H L-mount cine camera!
As you might know Panasonic offers a BGH1 Micro Four Thirds cinema camera. Well it sounds like Panasonic will soon announce a L-mount version of this boxy thing. Nokishita reports:
Panasonic will announce the box-style 6K mirrorless camera “LUMIX BS1H” in the near future. Equipped with a 24.2 million pixel sensor. Is the US price $ 3497
18-50mm F2.8 DC DN Contemporary lens will be priced at 73,150 yen including tax

Nokishita reports that the 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN Contemporary lens will be priced at 73,150 yen including tax. That’s around $650 at current conversion rate. But real USD price might be lower.
It’s still unclear when the lens will be announced but the specs known so far are:
13 elements in 10 groups
minimum shooting distance 12.1cm (wide angle) / 30cm (telephoto)
maximum shooting magnification 1: 2.8 (wide angle) / 1: 5 (telephoto)
filter diameter 55mm
size φ65.4 × 74.5mm (E-mount version φ61.6×76.5mm)
weight 290g.
Panasonic has announced a big Lumix anniversary event for October 27th

Panasonic Japan announced it will celebrate the 20th anniversary on October 27th. I am unsure if there will be any L-mount announcement…
For the record: On October 27, 2011 Panasonic announced the “Lumix L1″(here on eBay). it was (and is still) a very good looking camera!

On Weibo Panasonic published the official letter from the director Yosuke Yamane. In this he writes:
- No intention to seel the Lumix business
- We are committed to grow both the FF and MFT format
- After the GH5II and Gh6 we are committed to release more impressive products
