The Lumix S5IIX is the first Panasonic camera in recent years that has genuinely made me consider returning to that brand for my main workhorse cameras. I built my “career” on the GH4 and GH5, then eventually found myself looking to Sony for their balance of quality and user friendly features. Asobinet spotted this Panasonic patent that describes the optical design of a full-frame lens that appears to be exactly the same as the new Leica Q3 43mm camera. Panasonic is well known for making some Leica cameras (SL and Q series). I did not expect this lens to be made by Panasonic as well.
