Exclusive: First Leaked Image of the Bokeh King – Sigma 135mm f/1.4

For the first time ever, Sigma has built a lens that no one else dared to create — a true BOKEH King, designed to rule them all. Introducing the Sigma 135mm f/1.4 for Sony E and Leica L-mount. With a massive 105mm filter thread and weighing 1350g, this isn’t exactly a lightweight lens — yet it’s still 300g lighter while matching the size of Sigma’s other legendary 105mm prime.

Why choose this over a “classic” 85mm f/1.4?

  • Delivers nearly one-third the depth of field, creating dramatically stronger bokeh.
  • Makes background separation effortless for portraits.
  • If needed, you can shoot from farther away, making it less intrusive.
  • In crop mode, it transforms into a 200mm f/1.4, perfect for indoor concerts and even sports photography

Here is a quick size comparison with he Sigma 105mm f/1.4 and Sigma 85mm f/1.4:

Sure, it’s heavier and bulkier — but after seeing sample shots, I can confirm this lens delivers absolutely breathtaking results. And since most of the weight sits close to the mount, it’s surprisingly well-balanced and not tiring to handle over longer sessions. Stay tuned on L-rumors.com — this one’s going to be exciting!

Still no Lumix announcement on the horizon…

Just a quick update: according to our sources, there’s no imminent Lumix announcement on the horizon. Looks like I’ll have to wait a little longer for my dream S9 with a built-in EVF 🙂

That said, Panasonic has already had a very busy year, so this short pause isn’t too surprising. The real question is — what’s coming next? Any guesses?

Sigma’s New Bokeh King is Coming on September 9!

Sigma will announce a groundbreaking new lens on September 9: the Sigma 135mm f/1.4 full-frame autofocus lens. This will be the first of its kind in the world! For comparison, Sony already has the famous 135mm f/1.8 GM, but Sigma is going even further with an aperture of f/1.4 — that’s 2/3 of a stop faster and around 20–25% shallower depth of field.

According to a teaser shared by Sigma China, the lens is officially called the “MASTER OF OPTICS.”

Here are the leaked specs we can share:

  • Full-frame autofocus design
  • 105mm filter size
  • Approx. 1320g weight
  • Black finish
  • Removable tripod collar
  • Available for Sony E and Leica L-mount
  • Official announcement: September 9, 9:30 Berlin time

Early sample photos we heard about are said to deliver incredible bokeh — extremely smooth and perfectly round bokeh balls unlike anything you get from an 85mm f/1.4. The lens is large, but still practical for real-world shooting.

But that’s not all! Two more Sigma lenses are rumored to be on the horizon:

  • 20–200mm f/3.5–6.3
  • 35mm f/1.2 II

Sigma 135mm f/1.4 preorder links (open on Sept 9): BHphoto, Adorama, Amazon, Fotoerhardt, Calumet, Fotokoch, WexUK.

Stay tuned — as soon as we get images and full specifications, you’ll read about them first here on L-rumors.com!
