I have an exclusive rumor to share today! Multiple trusted sources confirmed that in early September we are getting the following new lens:

• Sigma 28-105mm f/2.8 ART Full Frame autofocus lens for Sony E and Leica L cameras

This has the potential to become a very popular lens like the Canon 24-105mm f/2.8. Yes, the Canon has a much more useful 24mm at the wide end but I have been told the Sigma weights less, is more compact and more importantly much cheaper!

On July 29 Leica registered a camera with code 4506. We don’t know what model…what’s your best guess? Reminder: ON July 12 Panasonic registered a camera with code P2403A which I think is a new S1H successor…

Multiple reliable sources have confirmed that Sigma will announce a new f/2.8 full-frame zoom lens in early September. It will be available for Sony E and Leica L-mount lenses.

Stay tuned, we will be able to confirm the full specifications soon!

A trusted source told me that the Lumix S1r successor launch got delayed. We now can expect this camera to be on market by early 2025 only. The same source confirmed this camera will be based on the same Leica SL3 tech, featuring the same 60 MP sensor made by Sony.

The current S1R has an estimated shipment date of 6-8 months. And I think this is exactly when we will get the new S1rII instead.

On July 12 Panasonic officially registered a new camera model in China. The camera code is “P2403A” and it supports dual-band WiFi + Bluetooth. What this registration means:

• Usually 2-3 months after the registration a new camera gets announced
• Dual-band Wifi supports means it’s likely a mid to high end camera

My guess is that this is either a S1H successor or a S1R successor. What do you hope to get?

Last week I told you that Tamron will soon announce another big zoom lens. Well, two trusted sources have just told me that Sigma will also soon announce a big zoom lens!I have been told that unlike the recent Sigma 28-45mm f/1.8 DG DN Art lens this is more “intriguing” for the masses as it’s NOT a niche lens but an affordable lens that could be interesting for most of our readers.

Ymcinema spotted a new Panasonic patent that describes the design of a sort of modular and box shaped Cine Camera. The patent doesn’t say if this is a Full frame L-mount camera but if Panasonic make this camera I am pretty certain it will be L-mount.

We already have two such Box styled L-mount cameras:

• The Panasonic Lumix BS1H Box Cinema Camera
• The Blackmagic Design PYXIS 6K Cinema Box Camera

The news here is that on this patent the box camera can use an attachable grip. The goal of this is being able to shoot handheld.
