I told you months ago that the SL3 with 60MP sensor would be coming in early 2024. Now LR seems to agree with me and shared those rumored specs:

• The Leica SL3 will use the same 60MP sensor as the M11/Q3
• There will be a new body that is only a bit smaller than the current SL2
• 6.5 stops image stabilization
• Phase detection AF
• 9fps continuous shooting
• Supports cropped 8K/30p and 4K/60p + full-frame & S35 C4K/30p
• Official announcement expected in the first quarter of 2024 (March?)
• The camera is already being tested in the field
• Registered Type 5404 model

I can now confirm that Panasonic will announce the new 100mm f/2.8 macro on January 8th. Some more info about this lens:

• Lightest 100mm Full Frame macro in it’s class
• Comes with two switches: One for AF-MF and one for the focus range (macro, from 50cm or full).
• Close focus distance is 0,204m (20,4cm)

So far got no info about anything else being announced on that day.

Panasonic is rumored to announce the new 100mm macro lens on January 8th. On a much older roadmap this was marked as having a f/2.8 aperture while on the latest roadmap there was no mention of the exact specs. I go the info about the announcement date from one new source…so let’s hope he is spot on because he claims also to knwo what’s coming after that lens 😉

Asobinet reports that the S1R production completed and sales discontinued. One more sign the new Panasonic high resolution camera is coming soon. The other “sign” was the fact that Panasonic registered a new high end camera in China. Let’s hope we will get the new S1RII at the CP+ show in Japan which opens in February.

Leica registered a new High end camera in China with the code “5404“. My bet is that this is the new SL2 successor (which is currently discounted when bought in bundle).
